Mountain Challenge Archery Shoot
Join us for a weekend of archery, Adirondack beauty, and outdoor fun at one of the North Country’s longest-running archery events! Featuring two 30-target 3D courses, novelty shoots, classes for all bow types, lakeside camping, and a welcoming campfire atmosphere, the Mountain Challenge is perfect for all ages and skill levels. Hosted by the Tupper Lake Sportsmen’s Club—where community, tradition, and a love for the outdoors come together.
The Northern Challenge
The Northern Challenge is one of the largest and most exciting ice fishing tournaments in the Adirondacks, drawing hundreds of anglers and awarding over $40,000 in cash and prizes each year—including two brand new ATVs, thousands in giveaways, and multiple 50/50 raffles.
Held annually on the first Saturday in February, the derby takes place on Lake Simond and features hourly cash payouts, a $10 Lunker Pool for the biggest catch of the day, and strict adherence to NYS DEC rules. Participants must register in advance, and all fishing is done in open view for fairness and fun.
Whether you’re competing or just spectating, it’s a can’t-miss community tradition with food, excitement, and the spirit of winter sportsmanship.
